
Cornish appeared in the American military movie "Stop-Loss" in 2008, and the period movie "Bright Star" in 2009. In 2007 Cornish appeared in the film "Elizabeth: The Golden Age," the sequel to the film "Elizabeth" (1998), starring Cate Blanchett. That same year she appeared in "A Good Year" (2006), a British-American comedy based on the book by Peter Mayle.

In 2006 Cornish appeared in the critically acclaimed movie "Candy," based on Luke Davies's novel. In 2003 Cornish starred in the Australian movie "Horseplay." The following year she appeared in the drama "One Perfect Day." In 2004 Cornish appeared in the Australian independent film "Somersault." The same year she appeared in the short film "Everything Goes" (2004). After a career as a model as a teenager Cornish was offered her first movie role in 1999 in a movie called "The Monkey's Mask." She appeared in a number of Australian television series including "Water Rats", (1996-2001), "Outriders" (2001), and "White Collar Blue" (2002-3).

Born in New South Wales, Australia, actress Abbie Cornish grew up on a large farm until she relocated to the nearby city of Newcastle.
